Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) FY2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program Application in the amount up to $665,556.00, and to authorize the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents, and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires a 10% cash match. All required documents were submitted through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation complies with the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures.  [Requested by Fire Chief R. Issue: The Webb County Fire Department has identified the need for a 3,000-Gallon BXT Tanker to improve emergency response capabilities and better serve county residents. A fire water tanker is needed to ensure a reliable and immediate supply of water for firefighting, especially in locations where a permanent fire water system or hydrant network is unavailable, insufficient, or unreliable.

Solution: The approval to develop and submit the FY2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Application to obtain funding for the acquisition of the 3000 Gallon BXT Tanker, Maintenance Package and HGAC FS12-23 (Fire). 

Result: If awarded, the funding will allow the Webb County Fire Department to acquire a 3000-Gallon BXT Tanker, Maintenance Package and HGAC FS12-23 (Fire), enhancing emergency response capabilities and improving fire protection services for the residents of Webb County.
