Discussion and possible action to authorize the acceptance of a FY 2026-27 Meals on Wheels (MOW) Loves Pets grant award from the Meals on Wheels America National Organization in the amount of $15,000.00 for the pet food needs of clients currently enrolled in the Webb County Meals on Wheels Program and as prepared, written, and submitted by the CAA grant writer in collaboration with CAA management, and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires no cash match; and, thus will have no impact to the general fund.  All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. [Requested by Guillermo Walls, CAA Director]
 
Issue: The Webb County Community Action Agency (WCCAA) applied for a grant to assist participating Meals on Wheels clients with their pet food needs. 
 
Solution: Proposed grant award will allow expanded capacity for the Meals on Wheels Program to assist clients with their dogs’ and cats’ nourishment needs.
 
Result: Community Action Agency (CAA) and its Meals on Wheels Program will be able to provide this added service for its clients who own cats and/or dogs.
