Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of sixteen (16) APX-6500 Enhanced VHF Mobile radios including programming and installation for a total amount not to exceed $110,994.72 from Motorola (HGAC Contract No. RA05-21) for the Webb County Sheriff's Office and in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program, §271.101, §271.102 (Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation) and any other matters incident thereto. [Operation Lone Star (OLS) #2748-3010-001-460105 (Minor Tools & Apparatus)]
 
Issue: Grant funding has been reallocated to Webb County for the purpose of purchasing additional mobile radios to enhance law enforcement communications.
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize grant funded equipment for law enforcement use.  Motorola has a cooperative contract with HGAC, meeting all competitive bidding requirements of the State of Texas.
 
Result: If approved, proceed with order.  The estimated time of delivery is 60 days or less.
