Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of the U.S. Department of the Interior-Water Smart Drought Response Program Application in the amount up to Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000.00) and authorization of the County Judge to act as the County’s Executive Office and Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County’s participation in the application. This grant application requires a 5% cash match. The Economic Development Department has reviewed the documentation, and it is in compliance with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) policy and procedures.
  
Issue: Webb County is in need of increasing access to clean drinking water in low-income areas such as the rural areas/colonias of Hwy 59.

Solution: Submission of the Water Smart Drought Response Program Application aims to support critical drought resiliency projects and enhance the Webb County water infrastructure.

Result: If funded, Webb County will establish access to clean drinking water through SOURCE Global Hydropanel systems in rural areas of Hwy 59.
