Discussion and possible action to accept joint collaboration between the Texas Association of Community Action Agencies (TACAA) and Webb County Community Action Agency (WCCAA) to develop and submit a Digital Equity Act Competitive Grant application to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) for Human-I-T Digital Navigation Program for the purpose to promote awareness of digital inclusion services and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any cash match; and thus there will no impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent to the Economic Development Department and were found in compliance with the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) policy. Issue: Digital tools and services are increasingly integral to social participation and engagement, yet, many individuals and families in our community, particularly in underserved areas, lack access to reliable internet and digital devices.
 
Solution: Collaborate with TACAA to submit an application for the purpose of promoting awareness of digital inclusion services.
 
Result: The grant would assist Webb County Community Action Agency to promote social equity by addressing disparities in digital access and skills, helping to ensure that all community members have the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in a digital world.
