Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Community Action Agency (CAA) to submit a member agency application and enter into an agreement with the South Texas Food Bank to become a food distribution site (pantry) at its newly inaugurated headquarters at 111 Camino Nuevo Road off of Highway 359; and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official in all matters pertaining to the application/agreement; and any other matter incident thereto.  The funding for this food distribution site will be paid through CSBG grant funds and equipment donated by the South Texas Food Bank; and, thus, will have no cost to Webb County.

Issue: During these inflationary economic conditions, there is a greater need for additional services/expanded capacity to serve the impoverished residents of Webb County.  The South Texas Food Bank has been seeking a partner to help with food distributions along Highway 359. 

Solution: Develop a food pantry at the newly inaugurated Community Action Agency (CAA) headquarters at 111 Camino Nuevo Road off of Highway 359.

Result: Community Action Agency (CAA) will be able to provide additional services for the impoverished residents living along the Highway 359 corridor.
