Discussion and possible action to purchase a PowerEdge R650 Server and a Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard license and all related services and hardware required in order to run and maintain Webb County’s Voter Registration and information database run smoother and securer in the amount of $20,462.08 from SHI (Microsoft Licensing) (DIR-CPO-5237) and $26,476.96 from Dell (Server Hardware) (TX-DIR-TSO-3763) for a total amount of $46,939.04 pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code: Sub-Chapter F. cooperative Purchasing Program, Sections 271.101, 271.102 (Cooperative Purchasing Participation) and to further authorize the Webb County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any matters incident thereto. Issue: Our new voter Registration Database will require an up to date Server in order to keep voter registration database safe and secure. The Elections Office does not currently have a dedicated secure standalone server for Voter Registration.

Solution: Authorizing the purchase for this new Server and the Microsoft license will make voter Registration data securer while providing a faster and easier voter check-in process on when voting.

Result: Elections Office will have a new dedicated standalone Server and license making the office securer and more efficient with on voter registration, processing and database keeping.
