Discussion and possible action to request a 12-month extension to the U.S. Department of Justice for the Justice for Families Grant #15JOVW-22-GG-00225-JFFX extending the grant period through October 31, 2026, in order to ensure full utilization of remaining funds and completion of project objectives and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters thereto. This request will have no impact on the general fund. All required documents were reviewed by the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is in compliance with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures.

Issue: Webb County was awarded a total of $550,000.00 under the Justice for Families Grant #15JOVW-22-GG-00225-JFFX. As of September 30, 2025, an estimated balance of $181,544.90 will remain unexpended. Additionally, some grant goals and objectives are still in progress and require additional time for full implementation.

Solution: Approval is requested to submit a formal 12-month extension request to the U.S. Department of Justice. 

Result: The extension through October 31, 2026, will facilitate the completion of outstanding project objectives and maximize the impact of the federal grant funds.
