Discussion and possible action to authorize the submission of a grant application for a My Community Investment grant in the amount estimated at Ten Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($10,000.00) as prepared, written, and submitted by the CAA grant writer in collaboration with CAA management and submitted to the H-E-B Foundation for grant funds for turkey vouchers for the clients of the Meals on Wheels Program; and, designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires no cash match; and, thus will have no impact to the general fund.  All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures.  [Requested by Guillermo Walls, CAA Director]
 
Issue: H-E-B invited the Webb Co. CAA Meals on Wheels Program to submit an application for turkey vouchers for their clients in anticipation of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. 
 
Solution: Proposed grant application will allow the Webb Co. CAA Meals on Wheels Program to provide turkey vouchers for their elderly and/or disabled clients.
 
Result: CAA’s Meals on Wheels Program will be able to provide additional services.

H-E-B’s Laredo Area Community Coordinator reached out to the Meals on Wheels Program Manager requesting that the Webb County CAA Meals on Wheels Program submit a request for turkey vouchers through H-E-B’s My Community Investment grant portal.
