Discussion and possible action to approve, by Order, a budget amendment to the Local Provider Participation Fund 2001 by increasing the expenditure budget for line item 2001-5040-001-463903-090 Federal Matching Interest by $867,410.39 (pending October 2025 interest earned); said amount is available from interest earned by the Local Provider Participation Fund since June 2019 when it was placed in an interest-bearing account; as well as future increases based on monthly interest earned by this fund; and any other matters incident thereto. [Fund 2001 (Local Provider Participation Fund)]

Issue: The interest earned by Fund 2001 must be available as a source for intergovernmental transfers (IGT) to the Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) as per Chapter 288 of the Health and Safety Code. 

Solution: Approval of the budget amendment as well as increasing the expenditure budget based on monthly interest earned will ensure that the funding is available to be expended as intergovernmental transfers (IGT) as needed.

Result: The interest earned will be available to be utilized as funding for intergovernmental transfers (IGT).

The Webb County Healthcare Funding District and Local Provider Participation Fund was created under Chapter 288 of the Health & Safety Code.
