Discussion and possible action to accept the rankings and award RFP 2026-005 "Executive Search Firm Services for a Deputy Medical Examiner" to the highest ranking firm and to further authorize General Counsel to prepare a service agreement with selected respondent and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-1130-001-432001 (General Fund-General Operating Exp-Administration-Professional Services)]

Issue: The Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office currently does not have a full-time Deputy Medical Examiner to assist with the performance of autopsies, death investigations, evidence collection, and the ordering of laboratory tests in support of, and in the absence of, the Chief Medical Examiner. The Webb County Commissioners Court authorized the Purchasing Agent to secure competitive sealed proposals for executive search firms that are qualified to conduct a nationwide recruitment and selection process for the position of Deputy Medical Examiner.

Solution: Consideration to accept the rankings as presented and award to the firm that provides the best value and experience for the services being requested.   

Result: If approved, General Counsel will prepare a service agreement for the awarded services as per final directive and formal action taken by the Webb County Commissioners Court.
