Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on exempting VOTEC Corporation from the competitive bidding or proposal requirements established by Section 262.024 (a) (7) of the Texas Local Government Code, and designating VOTEC Corporation. as the sole source provider of software and maintenance for VoteSafe Electronic Poll Books.
Background
Recently our county Elections department made a request for qualifying the sole source purchase of software and maintenance for our VoteSafe Electronic Poll Books. These items are supplied by VOTEC Corporation who is the owner, manufacturer, and the only provider of software maintenance and support of their products.
The term of this Sole Source exemption will be effective for 36 months from the date of approval.
