Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on awarding Granite Trucking, Inc. for the purchase of crushed granite base materials, as the lowest quote received, pursuant to Texas Local Gov't Code Section 262.0225(d) and Section 262.0245.
Background
On November 8, 2016, Item #27, the Court approved the Purchasing Agent to advertise for bids for crushed granite base materials under IFB # 1611-125. A formal bid was completed, and no quotes were obtained. Texas Local Government Code Section 262.0225(d) and 262.045 allow the Purchasing Agent to recommend procedures for obtaining necessary items where no competitive bids are received. A recommendation was made to Road and Bridge to solicit for and obtain three quotes for the materials, as originally bid out. After a thorough attempt, 2 quotes were obtained. Based upon the quotes obtained, the recommendation is to make the award to Granite Trucking as the overall lowest quote and best value for the needed crushed granite base materials.
