Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on finalizing the scope of work document for the Williamson County Strategic Plan Consulting Services Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and authorizing the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive Statements of Qualifications.

Background

At the request of the Court, the Purchasing Department has drafted a scope of work to describe the consulting services sought to update the Williamson County Strategic Plan.  Staff seeks direction on the following items:
  • Is a workshop needed to discuss the project further?
  • Can the RFQ scope of work release as written?
  • Who will participate on the RFQ scoring and interview committee and what is the Court’s vision for these interviews?
Initial estimates for these services ranged from $100,000 - $200,000 when first discussed.  However, due to Ms. Arnold’s efforts in gathering the county’s current strategic planning documentation from departments, budget for this consulting project may be less.  The current cost for this service is now estimated at $100,000 +/-.  This estimated reduction is a result of now having line of sight to that planning work that is up to date and has already been done.

Lastly, the Court may want to consider a staff liaison to coordinate with the chosen consultant to move the project forward.
