Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a redistricting timeline.
Background
The attached is the proposed timeline for Commissioners Court approval of the County Precinct Map (Commissioner, Justice of the Peace and Constable) due to redistricting based on the census data for 2020. This timeline is based on receiving the Governor’s signature on the four maps that the legislature is responsible for adopting by 11/15/2021. These maps are for State Senate, State Representative, State Board of Education and Congressional districts. Completion by that date would enable the primary to be held in March 2022. If the State doesn’t approve these maps by 11/15/21, then this timeline will be adjusted accordingly.
