Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving purchase #202475 for Stryker Equipment and accompanying maintenance agreement from Stryker Medical in the amount of $440,991.40 and exempting the purchase from competitive bidding under Texas Local Government Code 262.024 (a)(7)(D) [Captive Replacement Parts or Components of Equipment] and authorizing the execution of this agreement.
Background
Williamson County EMS seeks to purchase Stryker Equipment to be installed into newly purchased ambulances and make them compatible and interchangeable with existing hardware as well as uniform with current ambulances. The cot fastener system helps boost safety by supporting the cot throughout loading and unloading. The quote also includes the trade-in of two (2) Stryker Power Cots towards the Purchase of PowerPro XT, which is allowed pursuant to Texas Local Government Code 263.152 (a)(2), offer the property as trade in for new property of the same general type if the commissioners court considers the action to be in the best interest of the county. Only one stretcher (Serial# 160140278) will be traded in at this time. The accompanying maintenance agreement covers all repairs, parts, and annual preventative maintenance for proposed equipment for a total of seven (7) years. Funding source is 01.0100.0540.005000 and the point of contact is Mike Knipstein. Stryker is a publicly traded company; no TX Ethics Form 1295 is required.
