Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 22 in the amount of $16,354.80 for Project 22IFB139 FM3349 at US79 (James Construction Group) P: 332 Funding Source: Road Bond.

This Change Order compensates the Contractor for replacing a section of the existing metal beam guard fence (MBGF) on SB FM3349 to meet current TxDOT standards.  This section of MBGF connects to the concrete barrier protecting the columns of the new bridge and its height needed to be adjusted to be MASH compliant. The original MBGF was installed according to an older TxDOT standard. The proposed adjustment ensures compliance with current TxDOT standards and improves safety of the traffic traveling south from existing FM 3349 to the new South Bound Frontage Road. Multiple items will be added by this Change Order. Please see attached Change Order for additional details.

This Change Order results in a net increase of $16,354.80 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $84,293,373.02. The original Contract amount was $81,941,038.13.  As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $2,352,334.89 has been added to the Contract, resulting in an 2.87% net increase in the Contract cost.  No additional days will be added to or deducted from the Contract as a result of this Change Order.
