Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving the Goods and Service Agreement and Contract #20252924 with Texas Correctional Industries for the purchase and installation of furniture for the District Attorney's Office in the amount of $800.00 with Texas Correctional Industries regulated by the Statewide Procurement Division (SPD), and authorizing the execution of the agreement.

Background

The agreement with Williamson County and Texas Correctional Industries  (TCI) will provide quality-made furniture for our county offices at a reasonable cost. TCI's statutory objectives are found in Texas Government Code §497.002, and are to provide work program participants with marketable job skills, help reduce recidivism and reduce department costs by providing products and services to TDCJ and other eligible entities on a for-profit basis. TCI was established in 1963 with the passage of Senate Bill 338, the Prison-Made Goods Act. TCI manufactures goods and provides services for sale, on a for-profit basis, to city, county, state and federal agencies, public schools, public and private institutions of higher education, public hospitals and political subdivisions. TCI products are required to meet specifications established and regulated by the Statewide Procurement Division (SPD) of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. SPD is the procurement authority for all state agencies in Texas and coordinates the majority of inter-agency sales of goods and services provided by TCI. Funding source is 01.0100.0440.003005 for FY25.  Origination #2953.  Department's point of contact is Gloria Favela.  A 1295 Form is not needed.
