Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving the creation of the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation with the City of Cedar Park, Texas and approval of By-Laws for the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation, as required by the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act, Chapter 22 of the Texas Business Organizations Code and Chapter 507 of the Texas Local Government Code.
Background
The Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation will be governed by a seven-member Board of Directors who shall have the powers and authority granted to Spaceport Development Corporations under Chapter 507 of the Texas Local Government Code. Williamson County will appoint four of the Directors and the City of Cedar Park will appoint three of the Directors. The Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation will be a separate legal entity that exists separate and apart from either county. Any future contracts or other obligations will be binding on the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation and will not be obligations of Williamson or the City of Cedar Park.
