Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a proclamation naming September 2025 as "Suicide Prevention Awareness Month" in Williamson County.
Background
Millions of people are affected by mental illness each year. Across the country and in Williamson County, there are many people and families impacted by mental illness who work, perform, create, compete, laugh, love and inspire every day. One in five adults in the U.S. experience mental illness and 1 in 20 adults experience serious mental illness. There is hope though and resources available to help prevent suicides. This proclamation hopes to help reduce the stigma of reaching out for help and to help individuals know the warning signs.
