Background

The Task Force is committed to protecting the communities of Burnet County, Coryell County, McLennan County, and Williamson County by aggressively investigating and reducing vehicle-related crimes, including auto theft, vehicle burglaries, and catalytic converter theft. Through a collaborative, multi-agency approach, the Task Force strives to hold offenders accountable, recover stolen property, and enhance public safety.  The Task Force will work proactively by conducting thorough investigations, targeting criminal networks, and engaging in proactive enforcement efforts. Additionally, the Task Force is dedicated to educating the public and partnering with vehicle-related businesses to implement crime prevention strategies and compliance inspections. The position does not require a grant administrator and is reimbursed to the county quarterly by the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
