Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action to authorize the Williamson County District Courts to apply for grant funding provided through the Office of the Governor for FY2027 and consider approval of the Transformative Justice Program grant resolution.
Public Background
The development, operations, success, impacts, and importance of this one-of-a-kind community-based felony diversion program for emerging adults. Recently completed research on this program will be summarized showing a 35% reduction in arrest rates for this overrepresented population within a Criminal Justice system which is transitionally ill-equipped to handle the underlying factors that drive this age group’s involvement in the criminal justice system.
