Discuss, consider, and take action on recognizing the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter as a recipient for the Governors Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter was selected as a recipient for the Governors Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Awards by the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.  This recognition reflects the shelter's outstanding dedication and service of their Leashing Hope program. Leashing Hope is a partnership between the WCRAS and the Bartlett Innovation Unit partnering incarcerated veterans with dogs from the shelter. The veterans practice positive reinforcement-based training to help the dogs make the transition into new adoptive homes.
