Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the approval of the AreaRae HazMat Monitors Project for submittal for FY17 Homeland Security Grant funding in the amount of $115,500.
Background
Williamson County is seeking funding for this equipment which provides air monitoring up to 2 miles away from the command center and allows the data to be read remotely. This equipment will replace aging equipment on the Regional Hazmat/CBRNE Response Team and will be available for response to the CAPCOG Region. There is no match requirement on this grant. Note - All applications are made electronically through the e-Grants system. This application does not guaranty that funding will be approved at the state or regional level. All projects that are awarded funding will be presented to Commissioner’s Court for final approval and acceptance.
