Agenda Item
Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the approval of the Magnetic Patch Project for submittal for FY17 Homeland Security Grant funding in the amount of $5,800.
Background
There are two major rail lines in Williamson County that routinely transport hazardous cargo and the potential for leakage is always present. Currently, we used ratchet straps and rubber patch kits to stop leaks. These Magnetic Patches will quickly patch leaks related to hazardous materials providing quicker protection of the public. There is no match requirement on this grant. Note - All applications are made electronically through the e-Grants system. This application does not guaranty that funding will be approved at the state or regional level. All projects that are awarded funding will be presented to Commissioner’s Court for final approval and acceptance.
