Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the issuance of a county-wide burn ban not to exceed 90 days and to authorize the County Judge to lift said ban when conditions improve.
Background
The threat of a wildfire has increased secondary to the recent freezing temperatures which have killed or frost cured grasses. According to a report by the Texas Forest Service on January 11, 2017, during the Williamson County Fire Chief's Association meeting, fires are likely to progress rapidly even in the absence of strong winds. Subsequently, the Fire Chiefs requested a county burn ban as moisture will do little to lesson the risk.
