Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 7 in the amount of $48,426.44 for CR 258, a Road Bond Project in Commissioner Pct. 2.
 

Background

This Change Order provides payment for additional work by the Contractor due to encountering groundwater at the east end of the project. The Contractor pumped water, excavated relief trenches, placed rock in wet areas, and reworked subgrade numerous times. This additional work did help minimize the ground water, but it became necessary to install a French Drain along the south side of the roadway so water would continue to flow out of the subgrade. The Contractor installed 600 feet of perforated pipe with gravel and encased with filter fabric. The pipe was extended to the existing ditch that runs parallel to Ronald Reagan Boulevard. This Change Order also corrects a duplicated line item number that was used on a prior change order.  No additional cost is related to this change.  Four (4) additional days will be added to the Contract as a result of this Change Order.
