Discuss, consider and take appropriate action granting the Williamson County Facilities Department Director with authority to approve changes orders in the event that a previously approved and authorized Williamson County Facilities Department Employee is unable to approve a change order in relation to a Williamson County construction project pursuant to Local Gov’t Code  262.031.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court previously granted specific Williamson County Facilities employees and the Williamson County Facilities Department’s Assistant Director of Projects with authority to approve change orders for specific Williamson County construction projects. Due to the retirement of Gary Wilson as the Williamson County Facilities Director, the promotion of Dale Butler to the position of Williamson County Facilities Director and in order to prevent delays that may result when a previously authorized employee is sick or otherwise unable to approve a particular change order, it is necessary to also grant the Williamson County Facilities Department’s Director (Dale Butler at this time) with authority to approve change orders in relation to Williamson County construction projects.  Any change orders that are approved by a previously authorized Williamson County Facilities Department employee, by the Williamson County Facilities Department’s Assistant Director of Projects or by the Williamson County Facilities Department’s Director will be placed on the Consent Agenda so they are acknowledged and made a part of the minutes of the Williamson County Commissioners Court.
