Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB # 1802-217 CR 200 at Bold Sundown Construction to the lowest responsive bidder, Cox Commercial Construction.
Background
8 bids were received, 59 Suppliers viewed the solicitation. The Contractor’s low base bid is $88,699.97 below the Engineer’s Estimate, a cost saving of 19.4%. The bidding was competitive with the lowest two bidders being within 1% of each other. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Cox Commercial Construction has successfully completed the Bill Pickett Trail, a Williamson County project and is currently working on RM 620 Ph 2. Based on the quality of past work, HNTB concurs with the recommendation of the Design Engineer, O’Brien Engineering, for award of the CR 200 at Bold Sundown construction contract to Cox Commercial Construction in the amount of $368,861.80.
The Point of Contact for this Bid is HNTB and Road Bond Funds will be utilized.
