Discuss, consider and take any appropriate action to approve Interlocal Contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety for administrative support of operations in Williamson County.

This item is an agreement between DPS and Williamson County, referred to as the Local Government Entity Employer (LGEE). DPS has requested this contract with all of the counties in Texas that provide staffing for their local offices. This was originally on the 12/11/18 agenda (item #29), but some clarifications and revisions were needed to section VIII of the document. The revisions removed non-applicable language regarding a $50,000 funding limit, and clarified that reimbursements paid for state-mandated training and travel are actually paid by DPS to the county. The underlying purpose behind this interlocal appears to be to assist DPS operations involving processing traffic citations and ultimately assist the local justices of the peace.
