Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the Facilities & Services Agreement and related County Addendum between Williamson County and Concordia University, Texas to provide temporary housing for uniformed EMS first responders supporting the COVID-19 response efforts, exempting these services from the competitive bidding requirements per section 262.024(a)(2) of the Texas Local Government Code and authorizing execution of the agreement and related addendum.

Concordia University Texas is supporting first responders as they work to keep our community safe and healthy during this time of COVID-19. Concordia has opened their Residence Halls for Austin-area first responders. The short term housing is for first responders that do not want to stay at home during this event. Concordia’s short-term housing is not a designated isolation place for a person under investigation, being monitored, or COVID positive. There is no fee to the County for this service, however a $1,000.00 refundable security deposit is required to cover any occupant damages. Department point of contact is Mike Knipstein.
