Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the purchase of an add-on Module for Election's poll books in the amount of $12,000 and exempting Tenex Software Solutions from competitive bidding requirements as per Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024(a)(7)(D) captive replacement components for equipment.
Background
Approval of this purchase will support the operations of the Williamson County Elections Department in the upcoming Presidential Election. The original purchase of the poll books from Tenex Software Solutions did not include the Election Response software module that allows 2-way communication amongst poll workers through the poll books. Quote attached outlines the $12,000 per year cost for the module. IT has reviewed this purchase. This expenditure will be charged to 01.0377.0377.004506. Department contact is Christopher Davis.
