This is for the construction of traffic signals, signing and pavement markings at two intersections on Sam Bass Road at Great Oaks Drive and Walsh Ranch Blvd. Only one bid was received, however the bidder (Austin Traffic Signal) was found to be responsive and materially balanced. Following is a summary of the bid totals:1. Austin Traffic Signal $319,866.00 was 11.1% higher than the Engineer’s Estimate. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Austin Traffic Signal has successfully completed previous Williamson County projects (Multi Site Traffic Signal (CR110 at University and Gattis School at Winterfield) and Pearson at Neenah Signal) performing similar work. Based on the quality of previous work done for the County and their bid of $319,866.00, we concur with the Design Engineer’s (K. Friese & Associates) Recommendation of Award for the Corridor H – Sam Bass Interim Traffic Signals’ contract to Austin Traffic Signal in the amount of $319,866.00.
