Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on an exception to policy for Juvenile Services regarding an external hire for PCN 1065, Director of Mental Health.
Background
Williamson County Juvenile Services is requesting to hire external applicant Heather Robison, LPC-Supervisor at the currently budgeted salary of $88,532, which exceeds the county policy of 15% above the minimum of the grade. Mrs. Robison has been selected to fill the position of WCJS Director of Mental Health Services. This position is currently filled by Lynn Kessel, Ms. Kessel is retiring on December 30, 2021.
This request is based on Mrs. Robison's extensive experience as a mental health professional -- as detailed below, Mrs. Robison has worked in the mental health services field for 20+ years including 21 years as a licensed professional counselor and 17 years in a senior leadership position (Director of Clinical Services & Director of Crisis & Access).
