Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on a proclamation and short presentation recognizing November 14-18 as Geography Awareness Week and November 16 as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Day.
Background
The Williamson County GIS Council (WCGISC) was formed nearly 20 years ago to help government agencies in the region share data, improve processes, and work more efficiently. This group has been continuously meeting to set standards, coordinate efforts, and conduct information-sharing meetings, as well as GIS Day events. This year, the WCGISC is hosting the GIS Day events Wednesday, Nov 16 at the Dell Diamond. This event is not open to the public as it will be an educational session for elementary school children. Williamson County GIS staff are in Court to give a short presentation and be recognized with the proclamation.
