Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 1 in the amount of ($2,394,078.12) for Project 23IFB8 Corridor H - Sam Bass Road (Cash Construction) P: 462 Funding Source: Road Bond.

This Change Order revises the project earthwork quantities, BCMUD water line items, and some driveway quantities. After the bid was opened, the Engineer of Record revised the quantity of embankment and excavation required on the project. Item 110-6001 roadway excavation was reduced by more than 25%, which entitled the contractor to renegotiate the unit price. The BCMUD 100% plan set was provided after the project was bid. The new plan sheets revised item quantities as shown in the attached Change Order. Discrepancies between the ROW plans and the existing site conditions required the modification of driveways 42, 43, 44, 45, and 47 to either keep them within the ROW or properly connect them to the residence/roadway.

This Change Order results in a net decrease of $2,394,078.12 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $33,751,880.88. The original Contract amount was $36,145,959.00. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $2,394,078.12 has been deducted from the Contract, resulting in a 6.62% net decrease in the overall Contract cost. No time will be added to the Contract for this Change Order.
