Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding setting a bond for the Williamson County Elections Administrator in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00, payable to the County Judge, approved by the Commissioners Court, and conditioned on the faithful performance of the duties of the position.
Background
On August 15, 2023, the Election Commission unanimously voted to appoint Judith Ritchie as the Williamson County Elections Administrator in the interim while the Election Commission begins its search for a permanent replacement. Pursuant to Section 31.040, Election Code, the elections administrator must give a bond that is in an amount set by the Commissioners Court not to exceed $20,000, payable to the County Judge, approved by the Commissioners Court, and conditioned on the faithful performance of the duties of the position.
