Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on an update from Bluebonnet Trails Community Services on expanding options and access to critical behavioral Health Care.
Background
Through partnerships with Bluebonnet Trails, the County has been able to increase access to vital behavioral health services for residents of Williamson County. Some of the projects and/or programs include mental health at 911 Dispatch, increased staff on the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, creation of a Youth Therapeutic Respite Program, Adult Crisis Respite Unit operation, 24-hour Diversion Center for Law Enforcement Triage and observation, Private Psychiatric Bed hospitalization for acute psychiatric distress, initiation of a Jail-Based Competency Restoration program, and initiation of a Residential Withdrawal Management program. The programs collect data to show effectiveness and cost efficiency, and have created sustainability plans for continuation of services.
