Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 13 in the amount of $15,975.61 for Project 22IFB39 CR 111 Westinghouse Road (Capital Excavation) P: 292 Funding Source: Road Bond.
Background
This Change Order compensates the Contractor for installing low fill metal beam guard fence posts, concrete footing, and a driveway terminal anchor section that were not called out in the plans. Due to the lack of cover over Culvert 1, the guardrail could not be installed per plan and was switched to low fill posts with a concrete footing.
This Change Order also addresses various small sign discrepancies in the plans and added signs for additional safety measures. Several sign posts had to be changed, in order to accommodate the correct sign installation. Also, a few small signs were added that were missing from the plans and the size of the stop signs was increased to improve safety at the new 4-way intersection of CR 111 and CR 110. Please see the attached Change Order for additional details.
Lastly, the Change Order compensates the Contractor for creating a right turn lane on northbound FM 1460 at CR 111, per a request from TxDOT.
This Change Order results in an increase of $15,975.61 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $22,564,561.02. The original Contract amount was $21,024,332.88. As a result of this and previous Change Orders, $1,540,228.14 has been added to the Contract, resulting in a 7.33% increase in the Contract cost. As a result of this Change Order, zero (0) days will be added to the Contract.
