Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on an updated State Plan of Operation (SPO) Agreement between the State of Texas and the Williamson County Sheriff's Office with respect to excess Department of Defense (DOD) personal property transferred pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 257a. 

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office has been participating in this program with the Federal Government for a number of years and must provide a signed agreement to show Sheriff Matthew Lindemann as the current Chief Law Enforcement Official (CLEO). On January 28th (Item #54) the Commissioners Court approved the State Plan of Operation application. This agreement will also need to be signed. The agreement promotes the efficient and expeditious transfer of property and to ensure accountability of the same. The Governor of the State of Texas has appointed the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct management and oversight of this program. All funding and staffing will be provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Requested property will be used in the counter-drug, counter-terrorism, disaster-related emergency preparedness or border security activities.
