Hear a presentation on the Williamson County Park Department Learn-to-Fish event held at the Regional Park.

Learn-to-Fish is a fun and educational family activity that began in 2010 at the Williamson County Regional Park.  The half-day event was inspired by fishing enthusiasts with great family fishing memories.  The goal of the event is to encourage families to spend quality time with each other discovering the beauty of the outdoors and to instill a love of recreational fishing.  Throughout the years, Learn-to-Fish has remained a free event open to children of all ages.  It provides children with the opportunity to learn fishing tips and techniques through hands-on learning at teaching stations. 

Local volunteer experts have guided young anglers on techniques, including learning how to cast and tie knots and how to be a good angler.   The event is made possible by community volunteers who have donated hundreds of hours to teach the children fishing skills and safety, the Wilco Parks Department and is funded by individual and corporate sponsors.  Since 2010, over 4,500 kids have attended the event and left with smiles and the tools they need to fish again.
