Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on a policy exception to facilitate filling a position in Emergency Medical Services.
Background
WCEMS is currently working on filling the commander in the clinical practice position, which has been vacant since May 16, 2025. The candidate of choice is a current WCEMS employee who has been with Williamson County for over 27 years. By moving surplus funds from one PCN to the vacant PCN, WCEMS will be able to make a reasonable offer which includes a 10% salary increase when a promotion occurs. Filling this position is critical to the quality assurance and quality improvement of WCEMS' clinical practice and I appreciate your consideration in approving this policy exception so that the position can be filled.
