Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on the 2025-2026 salary for the County Auditor in the amount of $212,894.96.

Sec. 152.032 of the Texas Local Government Code requires Commissioners Court approval of the County Auditor's salary should it exceed the "highest paid elected county officer". Currently, the highest paid county officer for FY26 is the County Attorney at $185,521.96.  The FY 26 (County Auditor) salary was set by the District Court Judges during the Auditor's Office annual budget hearing on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, which is a 5% increase over current salary.  2% of this funding is already included in the proposed FY 26 budget as presented to the court by the Budget Office.  An additional amount of $7,206.46 is needed if the Commissioners Court approves this item.
