Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on Interlocal Agreements (ILAs) allowing Coupland, Granger, Taylor, and Thrall ISDs to use the Williamson County EXPO Center for family reunification or as a Family Assistance Center in the event of a major public safety incident.

The proposed Interlocal Agreements (ILAs) authorize the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor to be used, when available, as a Family Assistance Center (FAC) or family reunification site following a Public Safety Incident (PSI) at schools in Coupland, Granger, Taylor, or Thrall ISDs. Public Safety Incidents, such as a school evacuation, an active-shooter event, or bus accident, may require a secure, centrally located off-site facility where families can reunite and receive information and support services. The Expo Center’s size and proximity to all four ISDs makes it an ideal option. Under the agreements, the school districts will supply the necessary resources to set up and operate the FAC, with coordination support provided by the Williamson County Office of Emergency Management. The ISDs will also reimburse the county for associated expenses.
