Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a line item transfer for Non-Departmental and the Sheriff's Office.
Background
Funds were placed in the Sheriff's Office FY26 departmental budget for several vehicles that were ordered in FY25 but not expected to be received until FY26. Six of these vehicles arrived early (week ending 9/26/25), and funds are no longer needed in next year's budget. The total for these six vehicles is $531,429.54. We are proposing these funds be removed from the Sheriff's Office budget, except for $89,971.25, and be placed in/added to line 0100-0409-000777 (Non-Departmental/Transfer to Capital Projects) to be used for additional CIP dollars in FY26. With respect to the $89,971.25, the Sheriff's Office placed an order to Dana Safety for heavy-duty body armor (plates) that were not received by 9/30/25 and will now be received in FY26. Leaving this money behind will facilitate payment for these items since funding needs were not known at the time. This would leave a transfer to the CIP line in the amount of $441,458.29.
