Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to authorize the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to apply for funding through the Office of the Governor's FY2026 Bullet-Resistant Components for Law Enforcement Vehicles grant.

Background

The Sheriff's Office is seeking approval to apply for approximately $233,088 through the Bullet-Resistant Components for Law Enforcement Vehicles grant. Funds awarded will be used to purchase bullet-resistant windshields, side glass and door panels for 24 patrol vehicles. This grant requires no match. A resolution and CEO/Law Enforcement Certification and Assurances Form are required.  Staff recommends the following action: Approve the Sheriff's Office to apply for the FY2026 Bullet-Resistant Components for Law Enforcement Vehicles grant and authorize appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to the implementation of the grant.
