Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the appointment of Williamson County Architect, Pablo Serna, with general authority to approve invoices and change orders for the Williamson County Facilities Management department in accordance with Section 262.031 of the Local Government Code.

Public Background

The Williamson County Commissioners Court previously granted specific Williamson County Facilities employees with authority to approve change orders and invoices for specific Williamson County construction projects.  In order to prevent delays that may result when a previously authorized employee is sick or otherwise unable to approve a particular change order or invoice, it is necessary to also grant the Williamson County Architect (Pablo Serna at this time) with authority to approve change orders and invoices in relation to Williamson County construction projects.  Any change orders approved by Williamson County Architect will be placed on the Consent Agenda, so they are acknowledged and made a part of the minutes of the Williamson County Commissioners Court.
