Discuss, consider and take appropriate action authorizing the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to apply for funding through the Office of the Governor's FY2026 Urban Area Security Initiative Federal Grant Program.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking approval to apply for approximately $454,510 through the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Federal Grant Program. Funds awarded will be used to purchase an armored tactical vehicle. This grant requires no match. A resolution and CEO/Law Enforcement Certification and Assurances Form are required.   Staff recommends the following action: Approve the Sheriff's Office to apply for the FY2026 UASI Federal Grant Program and authorize appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to the implementation of the grant.
