Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a line item transfer for various departments to cover shortfalls and enable payment of the workers' compensation invoice.
Public Background
Each year, we are given projected rates for workers' compensation charges. The rates are applied to compensation dollars and our invoice is based on claims. It is difficult to project exactly what the charges will be. Adjustments are made using surplus dollars in departmental lines first and then contingencies in the work comp line or other insurance lines, hence the reason we budget for this.
