Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on the support of Operation Liberty Hill from the Williamson County Recreation Fund in the amount of $200,000. 

Public Background

Operation Liberty Hill (OLH) helps families struggling to meet their families and children’s needs.  They empower families with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to build financial stability and long-term independence, strengthening our community through donor partnership, service and hope.  OLH operates a food pantry and thrift store.  In 2025, they provided:
  • 679,813 meals or 815,775 pounds of food
  • 17,582 volunteer hours
  • 66,359 people assisted, including 3,909 children
  • $62,565 in finance support
  • 74,332 articles of clothing and shoes given to pantry clients
Special programs offered by OLH assist Liberty Hill ISD, including "Operation Back to School", which provides students with new shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies.  They also provide students "Blessing Bags" that are distributed throughout the summer months.  These bags provide students with quick meals, protein, healthy snacks, breakfast and drinks with 100% juice and shelf-stable milk. 
OLH has received a donation of land on RM 1869 in Liberty Hill.  They are kicking off a capital campaign that will allow them to purchase an additional 2.76 acres from Williamson County and build a 28,000 square foot building that will provide expanded services, including:
  • Emergency Shelter for extreme weather events
  • Veterans Services
  • Counseling and homelessness prevention services
  • Community meals
  • Location for Texas Workforce Commission for employment assistance
  • Job skills training
  • ESL/GED courses
OLH is needing $4.2 million dollars to assist with the purchase of land and construction of a new expanded facility to provide additional services.
